About the UNCG MBA Mentorship Program

The UNCG MBA Mentorship Program matches business professionals with MBA students, providing an opportunity for students to connect in meaningful ways and benefit from the industry knowledge and career experience of their mentor.

The Three goals for mentees and mentors within this program are:
1. Mentees will be partnered with a strong advocate in the business community to help grow their network.
2. Mentors provide mentees with a sounding board, providing advice and guidance on career and professional growth opportunities.
3. Mentors support mentees in their personal and professional journey, helping to discern next steps.

Our hope for the UNCG Bryan Mentoring Program is that mentees will make professional connections, get “insider” info and advice, feel more confident in professional communications and networking, learn about job and internship opportunities, and have a “go-to” person to run ideas by.

How it Works

Each mentor and mentee will complete a questionnaire. Responses from the questionnaire will be used to match mentors and mentees with their most compatible partner. We will have a Kick-Off at the start of the program at the start of the Fall semester, with a Mentoring Mixer at the halfway point at the end of the Fall semester, and a Wrap-Up Social at the end of the program in the Spring. Pairs will establish a meeting schedule during their first meeting and are expected to engage at least once a month during the course of the program. Both participants will complete journal entries reflecting on their interactions, with a minimum of 8 entries by the end of the program. Mentees will have the opportunities in collaboration with their mentor to set up three program outcomes for their mentorship journey.
